Ongoing and Future Research Agenda

My main research focuses on the effects of cultural and contextual aspects on principals' perceptions and actions, including challenges faced, and actions performed during crises. In addition, I investigate leaders’ cognitive complexity and cognitive aspects of educational administration research.

I am currently engaged in four main studies.

1. The impact of personal and contextual characteristics on principals' and teachers' cognitive complexity, innovation behavior and flexible thinking, and their effects on school processes and outcomes.

2. The development of a new theoretical framework - "leadership for society" - related to Arab school principals (in collaboration with Prof. Chen Schechter).

3. Examining the effect of school principals and school climate on the educators' work and student attitudes.

           4. Leading schools in a global pandemic.

5. School leaders’ role in designing mechanisms to support and empower students under threat of home relocation, demolition or displacement.
